The Teenth Project
What the Teenth Score is — and what it isn't
Your Teenth Score is a private record of your reliability. It is not a credit score, it is not a credit report, and it never goes to a credit bureau.
Version 2026-07-24
1. It is not a credit score
Your Teenth Score has nothing to do with FICO, VantageScore, or any score a lender pulls. It does not affect them. Raising your Teenth Score will not raise your FICO score, and lowering it will not lower your FICO score. They are separate systems that do not talk to each other.
Teenth exists precisely because the credit system was never built to see people like you. We are not trying to become another version of it.
2. We never report you to anyone
We do not furnish information to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, or any consumer reporting agency. We are not a consumer reporting agency ourselves. Nothing you do in Teenth creates a record at a bureau.
Because we do not report, a bad month in Teenth cannot follow you the way a bad month on a credit report does.
3. You decide who sees it
Your record is private by default. If you share it — by handing someone your Teenth Card, sending a link, or generating a credential document — that is your choice, made one person at a time, and you control exactly which parts are visible in your privacy settings.
We do not sell your record, rent it, or hand it to partners. Nobody can look you up and pull your Score without you giving it to them.
4. What the Score is made of
Five things, weighted, all of which you can see:
- On-time payments — 30%
- Savings growth — 25%
- Spending rhythm — 20%
- Income steadiness — 15%
- Community — 10%
There is no secret model and no hidden penalty. If your Score moves, the app tells you which of those five moved it.
5. There is no failing grade
The letter scale runs from A down to C−. There is no D and no F. If your Score is below the C− threshold, the app shows a Building state — the grid filling in, no letter at all — because someone early in their record has not failed anything. They are building.
Setbacks are described as recovering. That is a deliberate choice about how this product talks to people, and it is not going to change.
6. It is coaching, not a decision about you
Teenth does not decide whether you get an apartment, a loan, or a job, and we do not make eligibility decisions for anyone else. If a person you share your record with chooses to weigh it, that is between you and them.
The Score is not financial advice, and Teenth is not a financial advisor, a bank, or a lender.
