The Teenth Project
Platform Terms
The agreement between you and The Teenth Project. We have tried to write it in the same voice we use everywhere else — plainly, and without traps.
Version 2026-07-24
1. Who we are
Teenth is operated by The Teenth Project. “We” and “us” mean The Teenth Project. “You” means the person using the app.
You must be at least 18 to hold a Teenth account. Teenth for Teens, if and when it launches, runs under separate terms with guardian consent.
2. What Teenth does
Teenth reads financial information you connect and builds a private record of your reliability — your Teenth Score. It also lets people in your Circle vouch for you, lets you generate a credential document, and surfaces offers and opportunities.
Teenth does not move money. We do not hold funds, transfer funds, pay your bills, or act as a bank, lender, money transmitter, or payment processor. Features that involve money moving are not available in this version, and where you see them described they are marked as not yet available.
3. Your Score is not a credit report
This matters enough to have its own document. See the Score Disclosure. In short: the Teenth Score is a private coaching credential, it is never reported to credit bureaus, it does not affect your FICO score, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.
4. Connecting your bank
Bank connections run through Plaid. When you connect an account, you authorize us to read transaction and balance information for the purpose of building your Score and detecting your recurring obligations. We do not have your bank password, and we cannot move money in or out of your accounts.
You can disconnect an account at any time. Disconnecting stops new data from arriving; it does not erase the Score history already built.
5. Your Circle and vouching
People you invite may attest to your reliability. Attestations are statements of personal knowledge, not guarantees, and they carry no financial obligation for the person making them. Nobody in your Circle owes anyone money because they vouched for you.
Do not offer anything of value in exchange for a vouch. Accounts that trade or purchase attestations will be suspended, and affected attestations removed.
6. What you agree not to do
- Give false information, or connect accounts that are not yours.
- Manufacture or buy attestations, or create accounts to vouch for yourself.
- Present your Teenth record as a credit report, or as issued by a bureau.
- Scrape the service, or attempt to access another person’s record.
- Use Teenth to harass, defraud, or pressure anyone for money.
7. Your card and your public profile
The Teenth Card is an identity card. It carries no funds, no card number, and no payment network — it is a way to hand someone a link to your profile. Anything visible on your public profile is visible because you turned it on.
Your handle is yours while your account is active. We may reclaim handles that impersonate a person or organization, or that are used to deceive.
8. Memberships and payments
Supporter memberships are processed by Stripe and fund the Milestone Reward pool. Memberships renew until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it.
9. We are building in public
Teenth is early software. Features will change, some will be removed, and the app may be unavailable at times. We provide the service as it is, without warranties, and to the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
None of that limits liability we are not allowed to limit — including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time, and you may request deletion of your data. We may suspend an account that violates these terms. We will tell you why, unless the law prevents us.
11. Changes, and how to reach us
If we change these terms materially, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Questions go to hello@teenth.app.
The Teenth Project has not yet completed incorporation. The governing law and jurisdiction for these terms will be stated here once it has, and we will ask you to accept the updated version at that point.
